I think to use a physics law, it’s their reaction. As the rest of us grow more open minded to others, they grow more hostile. I don’t remember the right being that hostile to transgender people in the past. I mean they weren’t tolerant but the transgender sex offender fantasy thing to me seems to be a bitter response to losing the SSM battle.

It’s an unwillingness to try and understand people with different experiences. The tide turned on gay rights because it got to the point where everyone knew somebody who was out. It’s a lot harder to stereotype and fearmonger when the guy in accounting is talking about his boyfriend, or that funny gal on that show you like is holding hands with her girlfriend on the red carpet. I suspect the same will eventually happen with transgenderism, more people will come out and they’ll have to confront it, they’ll figure out that it’s not really an issue, and they’ll move on to being scared by something else.
