re: #46 JordanRules

Since Hungary’s April election Orbán has moved to:
—Make giving info to asylum-seekers about their rights illegal
—Block all ways to legally seek asylum in Hungary
—Make homelessness illegal
—Limit freedom of assembly, with even whistling during an Orbán speech a jailable offense

Expect to see more of this populism spreading throughout Europe.

Keep in mind that Western Europe has been dealing with immigrant populations since the 60’s. They have not always been ideal examples of tolerance, assimilation or integration, but East Germany and the Eastern Bloc had almost no experience with foreigners outside of temporary guest workers from other communist countries or exchange students.

So it should be little wonder that xenophobic populist parties are well represented in this part of Europe.
