The scariest thing Trump has done is inspire personal devotion. No doubt, I admired Obama but I didn’t feel like I owed him a slavish loyalty. I proudly supported him and still do but there’s a difference.

It’s not really the personal devotion he receives that is the problem, it’s that he receives it by being a bully, a thug, a misogynist, a racist, and a liar who has allegiance only to his bottom line and Putin. Those who support him share his noxious views. Adoration for such a man is toxic to our survival.
