Virginia Beach is like Rockwall. Middle and upper middle class. There’s no economic issue to convince them with.

I would actually rather the party concentrate on places like rural PA, and MI, than try to convert where I live.

ID, MT, ND, SD, WY, NE, OK, KS, AL, MS, LA, TX, AZ, UT, keep adding up the places you don’t want to concentrate or campaign. Keep writing off those electoral votes without a fight.

I’m fifty-six years old. I am both disabled and a vet. I don’t need this crap from both the Republicans and supposed allied Democrats. I’ll continue the fight against fascism, but I don’t have to do that as a village trustee with absolutely no support even from alleged allies.

Keep concentrating on areas you think you can win rather than representing all the people, and see how that works out. Like it or not, the party has to play by the rules (the Electoral College).

There is one thing about that meme map posted above that is true: All that grey area is area ceded by the Democratic Party as “too hard” to campaign. We are only one statehouse away from the required amount to pass constitutional amendments against same-sex marriage, against women’s reproductive rights, against prayer in school, name a conservative hobby horse.

“But campaigning in those red states is too hard.” Every argument here boils down to that.

When you choose to come out of the liberal bubble (and that exists just as much as the conservative bubble does), let me know. Two hundred million people living in blue states do not matter: The Electoral College matters. That is what the party should be campaigning on - it doesn’t matter if Hillary Clinton wins in California by ten million more votes - they are meaningless.

Our million or so matter here so much more, and you can complain all you want how I am whining, but that is the truth. If the Democrats do not fight to the death for our five electoral votes, they are lost and cannot be made up anywhere else. Look at that list of states above our party has ceded as “too hard.” Now find those electoral votes somewhere else.
