Your list was a bit different than NJD, but some of the same are there.

I think what happens in Chicago is that there are spurts of murders over a period of a few days. So in one weekend 9 people will be killed. Of course when you read a headline like that it takes you back. Rather than say 9 people being killed over a period of 9 to 14 days.
