One advantage to living in a small town: It is easy to reject most robocalls that spoof local numbers.

Since we only have one central office, in the last four digits all government and business numbers start with “zero” and all private numbers start with a “nine.” That makes it trivially easy to reject the rest.

Fortunately, robocallers haven’t figured that out. My phone rings once, then the call blocker rejects the calls with numbers 1-8 (xxx) in the last four digits.

I’ve been getting spam calls on my cell that have the same prefix as mine, so I’ve been blocking them like crazy.
