I don’t blame Clinton. There are plenty of little things about which I could post-game sofa-quarterback nit-pick, but I cannot prove that my theoretical changes would have made a difference in the outcome.

American society today is the result of decades of super-luxury, of not having to really own up to tough decisions, burning the inheritance built by our ancestors, etc.

We could afford to be dumb.

At least for a while.

Some day the piper will be paid.
