Paint them as a racist organisation. If the NRA stood by what it claimed (that a person in legal possession of a gun whose rights were violated), then Philando Castile’s family would have been defended by the NRA as he was a member.

Cannabis does not carry summary execution by the justice system. The NRA should have given the Castile family the benefit of a full-throated legal defence. So either:

a) that claim is BS and they are simply grifting, or
b) they are racists.

There is no doubt that the NRA members are deeply racist and white supremacists. They also use “Chicago” as a way to terrify their members because that supposedly shows how gun control doesn’t work.

The current Congress will not pass any meaningful gun control legislation. The only hope is November and a change in both Congress and the Senate.
