I saw Ben Stein’s movie: It’s a good thing I didn’t have a brick to throw or I would have been buying a new computer.

Looking back on that string after all these years what jumps out at me is the arrogant, self-assured tone of the creationists. These people are profoundly authoritarian, not only in their worldview and ideology but at the most intimate personal level. They quite literally do not grasp the concept of true or false the same we do. To them, the outward, unassailable projection of certainty is exactly the same as being right: They are right because noone can force them to admit they are wrong.
