I should have added that the Sovs weren’t running a brutal war until Brezinski tricked them into invading. So you’ve got a relatively peaceful Afghanistan, a Soviet invasion, AK47s and American Stingers all over the place, a guy named OBL, a religious Taleban that we backed taking over the country and ‘stabilizing’ it, a Taleban giving support to a guy named OBL cuz he fought with them and a religious Taleban that we backed because they were eradicating poppy fields (except when they weren’t).

Afghanistan used to be a hippie haven. Probably it would have been better if we just left well enough alone.
