What’s weirdest about people like Palin is that they’re utter subjectivists:

“You can spin up anything out of anybody’s statements that are released and use them against the person who is making the statement.”

She’s basically asserting the phrase has no meaning except whatever she subjectively wanted it to, and anyone criticizing it is ‘making up’ a meaning— even though that meaning is well-established.

Really bizarre.
