re: #476 American Sabra

Not to beat a dead thread to death…. but tasteless jokes have been going on, well, for as long as there has been comedians I wager. Certainly in the 50s? 60s? blue humor was very popular. The only difference is that it wasn’t on TV. After cable TV came out, then you had to pay to hear it. Before that, you had to to go Vegas.

I know that. My hubby is in the entertainment industry and he and all his colleagues earn their money on tasteless jokes. But what happened in the 2008 campaign and continues to happen went beyond tasteless. Enough is enough. If women want to be taken seriously, we have to shake off the moldering residue of NOW (Stepford wives of the dem party) and forge a new path. That we have all of Hollywood, the “feminist” establishment and the news media against us doesn’t make me feel much like shrugging things off.

I have enough brain cells to follow the Iran story, the ObamABC story, the Netanyahu story and the tasteless, misogynistic comment story. And any other stories that get thrown my way. I have an advance degree in thinking about stuff. ;D
