My students here aren’t as into the creative arts as my American students are, but I take pride in those who have started their own businesses, studied in the USA and the UK, and gone abroad to teach Chinese or work in the USA, UK or Tanzania.

I built up quite a collection of American students after two decades of teaching, but I’ve only been in China since 2008. Give the Chinese kids a break!

Any truth to the stories I read about the suppression of individual thought among the majority of the students? That they are front-loaded to toe the State line?
