Schumer’s still giving Trump’s possible nominations comity, which the GOP threw out when they refused to act on Garland. There’s absolutely no reason any Democrat should give any of Trump’s nominations the time of day. The GOP has brought this on themselves, and Democrats are still not wanting to play by the same rules.

There are some rules of decorum when it comes to nominations - that the Senate typically treats their own better when they’re up for nomination than they would from outside the Senate (private sector, or non politician), but Trump and the GOP have torched both in the current year. Schumer’s holding to the old rules, and the GOP has ignored them to their political advantage.

It’s time for the Democrats to come up with their new rules to deal with the fact that they’re in the minority and have little recourse here.
