re: #33 Anymouse
Good evening y’all.
We made the shortest drive of our trip today (Moab, Utah to Palisade, Colorado). It was by far the scariest, as I drove the Smart car through Colorado National Monument (note to self: Do not take the Smart up the side of a mountain in winter that the road is covered in glaze ice for twenty-seven miles. Just don’t.)
We also drove through Drink’s Canyon (the Colorado River) in Utah east of Moab on state highway 128.
I highly recommend both locales for stunning vistas. (State road 128 is a much easier row to hoe than the Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction in winter.)
I have some pictures, if anyone here is interested.
Please post whatever pictures you wish to choose. I really enjoy seeing them.
What I have on my Bucket List to do after I retire is to ride as Many Amtrak routes as I can. #1 is the California Zephyr which goes from Emeryville CA to Chicago. Friends have said it is the most scenic route Amtrak has.
