Not saying much tonight, I seemed to have dominated the conversation for a few hours last night and consider this time a “cool-off” period.

I’m still not taking back anything I said. Fatalism and catastrophizing over the current political situation, in my mind, is wholly unhelpful.

Even in my most optimistic moments, I realize that things are going to get a lot worse before they even start to get better.

And I still quietly fear that a lot of the damage that will be done is going to be permanent or take generations to fix.
