Or, on a somewhat less-snarky level, a concerted campaign by virtually the entire Republican Party and its enabling RW media to try to convince the public that any economic downturn is entire the fault of eight years of “bad” economic policy by President Obama and Democrats, and only a swift and rigorous application of “serious” policies (I.e. Austerity) can save the country from another 1929.

I don’t think that is going to be very easy to sell since it is only about ten years since the last downturn caused by Republicans. At some point too many people will figure out they keep hearing this and nothing improves.

And we can never forget that so many voters took a flyer on Trump thinking he was going to be the big economics fixer day one. They really did not think he was an ‘established’ Republican and they didn’t think they were voting for Republican policy.

So, more Republican thinking crashing the economy is not going to work. Too many lies too soon and even the ignorant can start to figure basic shit out…like having no money and no support of any kind.
