The problem with using people like D&S & Not Joe is they don’t really say much. They’re cynical political props to make an elitist and racist party seem what they’re not. They’re used especially D&S to be “Hey they can’t be racist or classist, these two support them.” I wonder what someone like Michael Steele thinks of them. Someone who actually has a political resume and didn’t get to where he is by being a prop. The thing is D&S will be replaced I seriously expect by an equally cynical gay and or Hispanic person. It’d be one thing if D&S and Not Joe actually had intelligent insights to offer but they offer talking points only and a way for the GOP base to feel safe from being called prejudiced or pawns of the very wealthy.
