Doesn’t the Book of Revelations by John only mention 144,000 are to be saved before the ‘crisis’? (Ignoring that they are supposed to be from the 12 Tribes of Israel.)

Speaking as someone not familiar with the theology of the radical Evangelicals, wouldn’t that kind of put a crimp on the entire concept of ‘Rapture’?

To riff on this a bit. What if it already happened and they didn’t know any of the folks (144k out of 10 gigapeople) who were raptured?

Also, to further put a crimp on it, I seem to recall that “the Rapture” is not a biblical concept, but something from the 19th century..
