It’s almost as if the high-population coastal states got hit hard initially but immediately handled the situation and have since acted responsibly, whereas the completely scientifically ignorant South and Central states gave responsibility and caution the finger and are now paying the price.

That’s the thing about science and reality — people’s beliefs on these subjects are irrelevant. Nature doesn’t give a shit, whether it is covid19 or climate change.

But so many of these GOP shitbirds have lived entirely in a GOP reality distortion zone, where GOP talking points and the ability to sell these in the media are their only measure of reality.

I honestly wonder if even mass unnecessary deaths, concentrated in their voting demographic, will be enough to crack right wing epistemic closure.
