unless it was Ducey himself or Mrs McCain, this was evidence of the writing on the wall in 2018. The rest of the Congresscritters are outright loons (Gosar et al) or crooks (Schweikert). The state lege bench is just as nutty (if not worse). Ducey may have seen that the fates were cast and he wanted to keep the Trump stank at arms length to perhaps be seen as a rehabilitated Republican (fat chance)… while the GOP has a significant presence here, they are all pretty much seen by anyone outside the Fox News circle as being decidedly batshit.

McSally was, believe or not, their next best candidate… and with the prevailing winds of change, she was gonna be toast if she returned to Congress unless she relocated elsewhere in the state.
