He is of the stated opinion they should finish the investigations, punish the offenders, and get on with things. Implying that the Democrats are dragging things out for political purposes while seemingly ignoring the constant GOP roadblocks and obstruction of the investigation, etc.

He is not a complete wingnut, since if he was I would simply quit talking to him. But at times he seems clueless or unaware of what the Republicans have been doing. I suspect that he is generally ignoring political news and very little is filtering in since he has different priorities than paying attention to it. And with the nature of our national news media the bits that filter in are anti-Biden and anti-Democrat simply to that appearing to be the default mode.
