The drive is the primary “magic” in the show, true. That said, it’s no worse than any show with FTL propulsion. And it respects physics more than 99% of TV.

There was a glorious early scene where detective Miller pours a glass of liquor on Ceres and the liquid corkscrews from the bottle to the glass appropriately given the rotation of the dwarf planet.
