Just read up on the “Ban all German luxury cars” bullshit. I can usually tease some semblance of what this lunatic is thinking out of the ether, but this one has me stumped. I have no fucking idea how this benefits the US.

It’s not about benefiting the US — it’s about taking a whack at the German economy. If he can crash their economy, it makes it easier for Putin to get his preferred fascist government in charge there, too.
