I do see the innocent impulse, but they’re spreading lies about Jews with it. Including that we are somehow materialistic, and that most Jews aren’t really faithful.

Plus, people used to use the same excuse (we’re just trying to save you!) to put us to death, so it’s a touchy subject, to say the least.
