Modern ‘conservatism’ agrees with Marx on how capitalism works. They agree that capitalism will seek profits and power before all else. They agree that this will lead to a class war.

The difference is that ‘conservatives’ regard the power chase as a good thing and they believe the class war will be won by the bourgeoisie, not the proletariat. These are minor differences.

Since these things will destroy society as we know it, it makes modern ‘conservatives’ revolutionaries because a revolution’s goal is always complete destruction of the existing system.

So, Marxist beliefs plus revolutionary intent makes modern ‘conservatives’ nearest historical analog the Bolsheviks.
