My favorite guitar is my 71 Les Paul Custom that I have beat up all to hell over the last 28 years or so. Bought it used with money I earned washing dishes at a Bonanza Steak Pit when I was 16. I quit in the middle of a shift when I knew the paycheck would cover the last layaway payment.

Funny story that you will get. Back about 30 years ago a guy come in my stereo store in Annapolis and wants to trade me a guitar he made at home for a $400 stereo. Being a smart guy, I politely declined. Years later when I met Paul Reed Smith again, we had a laugh together.
