Turn it around on them. Ask them what is happening TODAY. What is the excuse for not succeeding now? It’s not the evil white man, he is cowed into worrying about being labeled racist. There has never been a better chance to succeed in this country if you happen to be “non-white”. The only thing that could hold you back is your own limitations and shortcomings, not inherent racism and certainly not “white privilege”.

Dare your instructor to correct that

What happens in the cases where you disagree with them and they can’t or don’t want to address the point. Is that they ask you to take the question offline and meet to discuss it with them afterwards. You are not allowed to be disagreeable if it doesn’t fit the plan. No voice is allowed for that.

And the excuse for not succeeding now is that people of color are historically disadvantaged and still majorly suffering from the harm caused by white oppression. Which goes on to this day. Red Lining in Real Estate purchase is used as the example for this. Or the over enforcement of drugs laws in the people of color neighborhoods and the under enforcement of drugs laws in white neighborhoods. It is a class revolution thing. Individual merit is not valued. Obama has this play list glued to his sleeve.
