There are no accidents around guns. There are only purposeful discharges and negligent ones (Jim Wright - aka Stonekettle).

Rules of gun use (and I’m a non gun owner but I know the rules): Always assume every gun you handle or are around is loaded with a round in the chamber.

Always check the gun before handling to make sure there is no round in the chamber.
Always make sure the safety is on.

Etc.

If you met some of the “hunters” I’ve run across, you’d never step into the woods in any hunting season.
