Are you sure it isn’t YYYY-MM-DD? I think the only time you see what you noted is if they are using 12-May-01, otherwise, dates would be noted 2001/05/12.

I may be wrong, but that was my understanding.

Oy, I’m confused. Everyone should just use MM/DD/YYYY.
