They did underestimate the demand. I don’t think they could have anticipated how crazy people would get.

Not excusing the idiots at all. But, I can tell you that Rick & Morty is all over the place. I got a complement on my R&M shirt at a small used bookstore from a woman close to my age (I’m almost 48). This is the bookstore you go to in my town to find the books the schools want you to have, like Shakespeare or Steinbeck.

Edit: I guess the point of this is that it would have taken a simple google search to find out just how popular the show is. The fact that no one in marketing had enough of a clue to alert everyone to what might happen (shortage, not riots) speaks to how inadequate that side was.
