only because he does not have a lot to lose…I suspect that he is eyeing retirement and wants to leave a reasonable legacy

He’s not in Congress. There’s nothing he’s retiring from.

We can get too cynical. He was running around in Republican circles. He could probably have a longer career running to Fox than he will have being against Republicans.
