I’ve gotten these phone calls, where it’s claimed you owe a debt and you need to pay NOW. I’m sure you have as well. If you read through the story, you’ll learn that the numbers are completely made up bullshit.

Seriously, strongly recommended read, even if you think the guy was somewhat crazy, because you learn about how AWFUL the bottom end of debt collection is. It’s based on absolute, utter and complete garbage information.

Last week I received a phone call from my own phone (yes, you read the correct) and when I picked up there was an automated response saying they were from AT&T, my account has been flagged, and I needed to enter the last 4 digits of my SSN.

Sounded legit, so I gave them my entire SSN to be safe.
