Just the individual mandate. It’s not entirely clear how this will play out in the marketplace since the mandate never really brought as many people in as it was supposed to because the penalty was never really big enough. This will probably result in some insurers leaving the exchanges next year though. Also, those announcements will be happening about a month before the 2018 midterms so all the blame will fall directly on the GOP.

I think the individual mandate’s importance was always overrated in actual practice. The analysis assumes that people are Homo Economicus, coldly calculating every move for maximum personal advantage. That way, they’d go without insurance until they needed it, and then pile on when they’re sick and insurers can’t deny them, leading to a death spiral. In practice, people value security a lot and routinely overinsure themselves. It needs to be reinstated, but it’s not the end of Obamacare.

Fuckface obviously thinks that the mandate penalty somehow finances ACA, and he pulled one over on everyone by not mentioning it (because of course nobody else would notice). I hate that asshole so much.
