The same McCain that brought Palin on board and the same Romney that as a Senate candidate right now is bragging that he’s to teh right of Trump on immigration? You give these guys more credit than they deserve. They may not be as bad as Trump but they’re a big part of why someone like Trump was viable.

Their views on immigration were not right enough for to energize their rabid base. Heck, the only thing I could ever support about GW Bush was his initiative for immigration reform, but his own party would not support him on it.
