What would happen to the Chief of Police in your town if his cops busted a shoplifter and left her preschooler wandering in the Target parking lot?

If the shoplifter was Black, he’d get a promotion.
If the shoplifter was White & kleptomanic (it’s a “mental illness”) he would personally drive her to rehab & her child to her sister’s place.
