re: #475 BignJames

Some sports car racers do that too….”buyin’ a ride.”

Never knew that. Honestly, theatre is a business, and just like any business, professional don’t really have ego like displayed by austin_blue. Jumping in here, bragging about how much money he donates to the opera and how great he is, that doesn’t cut it.

Theatre is an ensemble endeavor. It takes the combined work of many people, both talent on stage and talented technical people. Working together is the key to a good show, a professional company.

I’ve been doing this 40 years, and I can spot a drama queen a mile away (although austin_blue made it really easy). These type of theatre people never last too long (unless, sometimes they buy their way through a career). Ego’s are fine off the stage, in front of the media, off the stage around your fans, but when you are working, ego should stop at the edge of the boards.

Ego like austin_blue’s will ruin a show and can even be dangerous to the cast and fellow workers.

Austin_blue, try toning it down around here, maybe you can get along.
