Addendum to my comment : It may take some time, it may not even be done on a large scale basis, but I would bet if you looted closely at all the local races for this and that on Nov. 4th, 2009, you will also find an interesting in roads made by the GOP and the Independents toward a less government and moderate conservatism.

I know locally, in a blue state, there were a number of small surprises. Small, because in general there was no really big issues being considered, but surprises, because of the unexpected outcomes that spoke of more conservative level of voting.

Hey, Hoffman got more votes than any (R) has in that area for a long time. But I suck at reading tea leaves to be able to make any interpretation. But if you stick to economic policy and shrinking Gov’t, whether you are a fanatic / religious zealot and if you can keep it to yourself as much as is humanly possible,…you’ll get my vote.
