Old news. They did exactly the same thing with frogs years ago.
There’s some speculation that it isn’t the spinning that disorients the creatures (same thing happened with froggy) but the intense magnetic field, which is about an order of magnitude larger than that found in the most powerful MRI machines. That, coupled with small movements, may be inducing currents in the critter’s brains.
I suppose some day a researcher will stick his head in one and find out.
