Honestly, I wish people would shut the hell up about “identity politics” and the left. Who pushed Same Sex marriage bans? The right. Who has pushed transgender bathroom bans? The right. Who wants to allow communities to deny Muslims teh right to worship? The right. Sanders and his allies whether they realize it or not give the right ammo by blaming the party’s social liberals for why we’ve lost voters.

“Identity politics” ignores the idea that all politics is ‘identity’. That’s kind of half the point. And by making it into the grand boogeyman, you’re saying that some identities simply ‘don’t matter’. Hrm…odd, feels like we had a movement built around fighting back against that very thing…
