re: #449 Walter L. Newton

I know who he is. Hell, last time he was here, he started bragging how much him and his wife donate to the opera (with out us even asking, we weren’t even on the subject) and starts bragging about how he’s played this and that (with out us even asking, we weren’t even on the subject), and strutting his feathers for no good reason.

There are people like Holton who “buy” there way into shows, they give lots of money, and the theatre companies compromise on casting and will cast someone like Holton, fearful that the person will not contribute again if they don’t get a part.

How do I know that Holton is one of these people, well, he told us first how much money he donates and then told us how great of an actor he is. He brought it up, not me.

Guess what, I’ve been working in regional theatre for 40 years, and ego’s like Holton are not liked.

Actually, twinkie, you have now pissed me off. I will not have you re-visioning history. What I said was that my wife and I have donated our time, at $3500 per year (total), to serve as mentors for Apprentices at a classical music festival. We have done so for the past 10 years. I am on your side on the Arts, Walter, but apparently your blinders prevent you from having any common understanding. Sad.
