Actually I am nearly certain one of those background checks was specifically for the supreme court nomination as a background check is pretty much a matter of course for any high level government position so I would need you to cite a valid source before I would believe that.

I don’t disagree, but then again, the recently revealed financial problems haven’t been mentioned, have they? Why not, unless they were not investigated? That’s kind of a QED.
