I’ve actually seen more California Condors in the wild than I have owls, believe or not.

I’m sure they’re around here, given all the other wildlife that amazingly lives in our development. I’d imagine I have to get closer to the Pine Barrens to see them.

Ooo, I’ve never seen one. Condor, I mean. A friend of ours lived up in the mountains east and west of Los Angeles, and served as a ranger sort decades ago. He and another were riding, and smelled something bad and went to investigate. As they got closer they heard a gosh-almight crashing like a jet plane trying to take off. Out of a very thick patch of brush with a dead cow in it came about 6 condors and 2 golden eagles. (I think I am remembering the numbers correctly.) Ed had some wonderful stories, rest his soul.
