Alienating the base from Trump is where Knecht Rupert would be essential. Fox would be essential in any plan in which the establishment breaks from Trump. Fox would need to drive the wedge between the base and Trump prior to and following any such break. They would do so by riding things like.

1. The current proposal to ban, seize and destroy bump stocks
2. Cheating US soldiers out of the funds owed them
3. Actually showing how cowardly of a shitweasel Trump is on the global stage

It’s still a question as to whether this could succeed with even Foxes help. There’s simply too many other organizations involved in maintaining the Conservative bubble to know whether Fox could pop it.

Do you think Hannity and Ingraham will do that? I don’t. This would splinter Fox as well.
