I suspect the tradition has to do with other country’s citizenship laws. In some countries, even if you parents are citizens, their child is not granted citizenship if born out of the country. If the country they’re born in doesn’t grant them citizenship either then you soon have a whole bunch of stateless people wandering around with no citizenship anywhere.

that’s easy enough to reform by law…I’m not suggesting that people born here are nobody…I’m saying instant citizenship is wrong…there is middle ground to explore…if not then I can live with it….I’m not freaked out, just stating my moronic opinion
