“You know your Nazi analogies are getting out of control when you start using them against people who are basically on your side…” Interesting how some fanatics reserve a special hatred for “the one that got away”: someone who (they think) SHOULD be 100% on their side, but whose purity is in doubt.

For example, I’ve read that for some Muslims, they’re OK with a Christian or a Jew being a second-class citizen. But they’re not OK with a Muslim who’s renounced his or her faith, i.e. an apostate. For these people, the penalty is death.

So it’s not surprising that sometimes, the nastiest nasties from the wingnuts are reserved for one of their own, so to speak, or one who’s close to being one of their own.
