I don’t think of suicide as necessarily cowardice. In Rep. Johnson’s case it does appear he was trying to avoid the consequences of the allegations though.

In this case, I definitely consider it to be an act of cowardice and shame, because it denies Johnson’s victim(s) their day in court to get their measure of justice.
