I don’t really care for his music, but I respect the hell out of him for working with (I don’t recall the name, some christian org), raising money to help fight the African slave-trade. Big props.

Here it is:

Perry flew to Sudan in 2001 with members of Christian Solidarity International to negotiate the release of Sudanese slaves.

He and the other members of Jane’s Addiction donated the profits from one of the concerts to secure the release of 2300 Sudanese slaves.

Pretty gawt-damned awesome of him, IMO.
