I recall an Orioles pitcher named Storm Davis. I think that was a nickname. For what it’s worth, Wolf is a name that Hitler apparently loved to call himself and this is a name that my brother loves too and my brother is about the furthest thing from a white supremacist there is.

IIRC, it was because his name Adolf came from “Adalwolf” or “Athalwolf”, meaning ‘noble wolf’ in Old High German. One of his aliases was “Herr Wolf”.
