Smith and Marx aren’t as opposed to each other as people think. Smith realized the importance of treating your employees like well people.

Marx’s analysis could not have happened without the structure of Smith’s - and Smith’s work on “The Theory of Moral Sentiments” which is less well known, provides the backbone of much of “The Wealth of Nations” that the modern right wing refuses to accept.
